¿What's the BUS FOR WORLD YOUTH?

The Bus for World Youth (BWY) is an extension of the Ship for World Youth (SWY) program. It was proposed by the Peruvian delegation as a Post Program Activity on SWY 21 (2009) with the objective of traveling through Peru with the same spirit as the Ship, but on a Bus.

Ex-PYs from all batches can join us to visit Peru and to reassure their commitment with society and leadership through volunteer work and donations. During 14 days, from December the 28th of 2009 to January the 10th of 2010, we will travel to Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Puno and Cusco doing touristic visits and voluntary activities to help Peruvian communities. Touristic highlights included in the program are Lima city, Titicaca Lake (Puno) and Machu Picchu (Cusco).

ITINERARY

December the 28th, 2009 - January the 10th, 2010 (14 days)

The Program includes:
  • Coordination for transfers from/to airport in Lima.
  • All activities & tours indicated in the program; including tourist tickets and entry fees
  • Transport along the country and for all tours (in minibuses, buses, boats, depending on tour).
  • Professional English-speaking guides
  • Budget accommodation: 2 stars & backpackers hostels in cities, and basic accommodation in rural community family guesthouses.
  • Facilities to buy the flight ticket Cusco-Lima.

The Program does NOT include:

  • Tour Conductor (the SWY-Peru committee will be in charge of the group).
  • Meals that are not indicated in the program (B/L/D = Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
  • Cost of the donations for El Carmen, Chalhuanca and Amantani.
  • Airport services on Lima or Cusco: tips, airport taxes (TUUA*).
  • Ticket to return from Cusco to Lima. [optional**].

*TUUA=Airport taxes: $31 US Dollars for international flights and $6 US Dollars for domestic flights (by May 18th, 2009).
** We recommend you to consider a budget of $150 US Dollars for a flight ticket (price may change depending on the date of purchase).

    Really excited about this! Good work so far guys and gals!

    I was wondering, do you have like a map showing the trip route and places we're going to visit? Sort of one like SWY :)
